Background training in biochemistry and cell biology. Research focused on understanding molecular defects in insulin resistant adipocytes. Specialty includes developing cell culture (in vitro) models of insulin resistance or disease state with a current focus on investigating epigenetic-mediated mechanisms of enhanced adipogenesis.
