Governance
Director (Professor Wayne Cutfield)
The Director has overall responsibility for the operation and scientific direction of the Institute. He reports directly to The University of Auckland Vice-Chancellor.
Senior management group
The Director is supported in his duties by a team comprising senior academic and general staff members of the Institute.
The board comprises leading international scientists and clinicians who have specialist knowledge and reputations in the fields of research undertaken at the Liggins Institute. Members of the board visit the institute regularly to review the current research and strategic directions, offer advice and report on the institute’s performance against its strategic objectives.
The board is chaired by Professor John Funder, Professor of Medicine, Prince Henry's Institute of Medical Research, Monash University, Melbourne.
